Kolkata Knight Riders will host Mumbai Indians in match no 60 of IPL 2024 on Saturday, 11th May, at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. KKR have won eight out of 11 matches they have played so far this season and are sitting at the top of the points table. Mumbai Indians are at the second bottom of the table with only four victories which is concerning.
KKR and MI have already faced each other once this season and KKR won that encounter in Mumbai by 24 runs after defending 169 runs. The Knight Riders hope to double that but Mumbai Indians will try to deliver a better performance this time. From possible playing XIs to Dream11 team predictions, here is everything you need to know about the KKR vs MI match in IPL 2024.

Eden Gardens has been very batting-friendly in the last few years. Four out of seven matches played at the venue last season crossed the 200 mark. Six games have been played here so far this season, four of which have seen 200-plus scores in both innings. The pitch in the KKR vs DC match was slightly different though. But, it is expected to be good for batting in the upcoming game.

Team News
Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata Knight Riders are sitting at the top of the points table with 16 points. They have already secured their spot in the playoffs and now only fight to stay intact at the top. Phil Salt (429 runs) and Sunil Narine (461 runs) are having a sensational season at the top of the batting order. Both the openers have contributed immensely and have been the most important players for the Knight Riders this season.

Shreyas Iyer is not having a great season with the bat. He hasn't been consistent but the others have covered him well and that's the reason KKR is looking so dangerous this season. Venkatesh Iyer is also having an average season with the bat as he has scored only 225 runs so far this season. But, his short cameos have helped the Knight Riders a lot too. Manish Pandey featured in the last game as an impact player and played a very important inning. He may appear in this game as well.

Andre Russell hasn't played lots of big innings but has stepped up whenever KKR needed him. Rinku Singh's performances are not up to the mark but he has time to improve a lot. Mitchell Starc is finally proving somewhat of his worth. Although his economy is very poor, Starc has picked up 12 wickets in 10 matches.
Harshit Rana has already scalped 14 wickets this season for KKR after featuring in only 9 games but he needs to work on his economy. He has leaked runs cheaply in some matches but he is only 22 years old and can improve a lot from here. Varun Chakaravarthy has redeemed him in the last few matches by bowling some really good spells. Narine is doing his usual, bowling tight spells and getting out with some key wickets.

Mumbai Indians
MI are expected to play with the same eleven they used in the game against Punjab. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan are set to open the inning with the bat but the duo has struggled a lot in recent games. Rohit and Ishan both would like to make a comeback in the match against KKR. Suryakumar Yadav scored a match-winning century in the last game and is looking in brilliant form ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Hardik Pandya hasn't delivered this season and needs to work on himself as the World Cup is coming soon too. He hasn't scored runs when MI needed him. He did scalp wickets but the economy is a huge concern. Tim David and Romario Shepherd have done an average job batting down the order and need to improve a lot. Tilak Varma didn't have to play a huge inning or play plenty of big shots in the game against PBKS. He had to help SKY in the run chase and did the exact thing.
Gerald Coetzee hasn't been consistent this season which is a huge worrying sign. Nuwan Thusara replaced him in the last game but he too conceded lots of runs in his 4-over spell. Jasprit Bumrah is without any doubt the best bowler of this season's IPL. He has bowled top spells continuously in every game. Bumrah has already picked up 18 wickets this season and will try to extend his tally during the game against KKR. Chawla is also scalping wickets in every game and may prove to be an important bowler against his ex-franchise.
