Team News
Lucknow Super Giants
LSG are currently placed bottom of the table after just one game. LSG want to wait a little longer to launch Shamar Joseph into this league. Lucknow's new Head Coach Justin Langer wants the young bowler to settle in comfortably first. Mohsin Khan and Naveen-ul-Haq were expensive in their opening game of the season so it is going to be very tough for the home side against PBKS.

Lucknow doesn't have a stable pace attack and that's why the franchise can struggle this season. Yash Thakur leaked runs in his three-over spell in their last game. Only Krunal Pandya's bowling was the only positive from their game against Rajasthan Royals and he will look to repeat that at home. Ravi Bishnoi also failed to deliver in the last game but if he gets some assistance from the Ekana pitch, he might become very dangerous for the opposition batsmen.
Quinton De Kock, Badoni, and Paddikal didn't get the start they expected and it became difficult for LSG to win their opening game of the season. The top order has to perform as Punjab are looking very settled on paper. Kl Rahul did score a half-century but the skipper will have to improve his strike rate while the side will also hope Marcus Stoinis performs this time around. Pooran did what he was expected to do and he is a very consistent batsman.

Punjab Kings
Punjab started the season in style but then failed to continue that start and fell short against Bangalore. It's high time now that Bairstow has to perform or the management will have to make a major decision upon the English opener. He also hasn't performed for a long time for his national side, so it will be hard for him if he once again fails to deliver. Shikhar Dhawan did score some runs in the last game but has to improve his strike rate.
B𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 louder than anyone else! 🦁#SherSquad, you have chosen Harpreet Brar as our #SheroftheWeek for his sensational spell against RCB. 💪🏻#SaddaPunjab #PunjabKings #JazbaHaiPunjabi #TATAIPL2024 pic.twitter.com/8Seta8sdIx

None of the batters except the skipper stepped up in the game against RCB. It was a very poor batting performance overall and the side paid the price. Sam Curran played a match-winning knock in the first game and also played a small cameo against Bangalore. Liam Livingstone is not a player who will play long innings in every match. He is an explosive finisher, so top-order batters like Prabhsimran and Bairstow have to step up to set the platform for players like him to unleash. Jitesh Sharma has shown his finishing capability and is expected to do the same against LSG also.
Kagiso Rabada and Harpreet Brar have bowled brilliantly in the opening two games for Punjab and they will lead the bowling attack. Arshdeep Singh has been very inconsistent and will have to deliver at regular intervals for Punjab to do well. On the other hand, Harshal Patel hasn't justified his price yet. He will be on the edge against LSG and the ex-RCB bowler has to perform remain in the team.
