With a seven-wicket haul, Mitchell Santner stands right behind Ajaz Patel, as a bowler from New Zealand with the second-best bowling figure against India.

Also, he became the second Kiwi to have a five-wicket haul against New Zealand.

Earlier, in 2021, in Mumbai's Wankhade Stadium, Ajaz Patel registered a 10-wicket haul against India, becoming only the third man in the history of Test cricket to take all 10 wickets in an innings.

Reckless India got caught to Santner

Mitchell Santner started his day with an LBW to Shubman Gill. Later he got the big fish, Virat Kohli, who got totally baffled by a full toss from him.

Santner also got the wickets of Sarfaraz Khan and Ravichandran Ashwin as India lost six wickets for just 91 runs in the first session.

He pulled the curtain to Jadeja's rearguard action. Throughout, Santner made no mistake in pitching the ball at the right spot. A couple of Santner's deliveries also kept low.

He ended India's run by finally taking Jasprit Bumrah's wicket, leaving India at 156 runs.
