#1 Virat Kohli | 26965 international runs

The most followed cricketer in the world in the player with the most international runs as well among active cricketers. Not only that, he is also the player with most international centuries among the active cricketers as well. The former Indian captain has 26965 runs and scored 80 international centuries as of now in his career.

Kohli till now has scored 8871 runs in 114 test matches he has played. Along with that, his 13,906 ODI runs is something that many active players would want to get close to. Kohli is also the player with most ODI tons (50) in cricket history. He went past Sachin Tendulkar's record in the ICC World Cup 2023 semi-final match against New Zealand in Kolkata.

#2 Joe Root | 19817 international runs

Joe Root is currently the best player in the world by form in the last two years. The former England captain was adjudged the "ICC Test Player of the Year 2021" for his phenomenal run at the international level. Joe recently became the English player with most test hundreds (34) in the test series against Sri Lanka.

His dream run in test cricket continued as he went past Yunis Khan and Sunil Gavaskar in the list of most test runs in the history of the game. In addition, he went Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson and Steve Smith in the list of players with the most test hundreds among active cricketers as well.

With the kind of form he is in, he is touted to be the only player who can get close to Sachin Tendulkar's tally of test runs. The English batter has 50 international hundreds against his name.

The former Kiwi captain is the only New Zealand player on this list of most international runs among active players. Kane Williamson has been the best New Zealand crickter in the last two decade and perhaps according to many, he is the best batter ever to play for New Zealand.

Williamson with 18213 runs is the highest run-getter for the New Zealand team in international cricket. Moreover, 45 tons in international cricket is alos a record for any Kiwi batter. Kane has scored 8828 runs in tests, the most by any Kiwi batter along with 6810 runs in ODIs and 2575 in T20Is. Till now, the has played in 360 international games and has a career best of 251 in tests.
