35-year-old Cheteshwar Pujara became only the fourth Indian batter to complete 20,000 runs in first-class cricket. He achieved the feat during Saurashtra's Ranji Trophy match against Vidarbha in Nagpur. Cheteshwar Pujara needed to get 96 runs in the Ranji Trophy game against Vidarbha and he completed the milestone with 43 in the first innings and a crucial 66 in the second innings of the match. It's time we look at the Indian players with the most runs in first-class cricket.

Sunil Gavaskar has the most first-class runs than any other Indian player. He has scored 25,834 runs in first-class cricket, including 81 centuries and 105 half-centuries, at an average of 51.46. Gavaskar's 10,122 runs in Tests consist of 34 centuries and 45 half-centuries.

Gavaskar is one of five players in Test history to have scored a fourth-innings double hundred. He is the only Indian among three players to hit hundreds in both innings of a Test match on three occasions.

The God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar is second in the list among the Indians in terms of scoring the most runs in first-class cricket. Tendulkar scored 25,396 first-class runs in 310 games at an average of 57.84, with 81 centuries and 116 half-centuries.

Sachin Tendulkar has scored 100 centuries in his cricketing career and has been the greatest batsman of the 90s decade. In the Test format for India, Sachin has also proved his worth to become the leading run-scorer in the format and has represented India in 200 Tests.

Rahul Dravid, one of the batsmen to score 10,000 Test runs, is third in the list of most first-class runs by an Indian player. The Karnataka batsman, who made his first-class debut in 1990, scored 23,794 runs in first-class cricket, courtesy of 68 centuries and 117 half-centuries. Dravid is one of India's Test captains, is one of seven players to have scored over 10,000 runs in both Tests and ODIs.

India batter Cheteshwar Pujara just completed 20,000 first-class runs during the Ranji Trophy third-round match between Saurashtra and Vidarbha at the VCA Stadium on Sunday. Playing his 260th FC match, Pujara completed the milestone and now he has a total of 20,013 runs at an average above 51. He has scored a total of 61 tons and 78 fifties in the format.

Vangipurappu Venkata Sai Laxman, mostly known as the Very Very Special Laxman from Hyderabad stands fifth in the list of all-time leading run-scorers in first-class cricket in India. With 19,730 runs to his name, which includes 55 centuries and 98 centuries, Laxman was a vital member of the Hyderabad side, South Zone, and India teams. The right-hander, who holds a top-score of 333 in first-class cricket, scored a record 1415 runs in the 1999-00 Ranji Trophy.
