Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma now owns the record of most wins as captain in T20I cricket. Rohit acheived the milestone following India's ICC T20 World Cup 2024 trophy win against South Africa. India registered a seven-run victory over SA to lift their second crown. Rohit also recorded his 12th win as captain in the T20 World Cup, the third-most after MS Dhoni (20) and Kane Williamson (14). The Hitman has led India in 62 T20 International games and won 49 of those games. India have lost 12 games under him while one match has ended in a draw.

Babar Azam | Pakistan - 48 victories

Babar Azam has led Pakistan in 85 T20I games but has won only 48. Babar was sitting at the top but his recent failures with Pakistan team has led the fans down. He had the chance to become the most successful captain in T20I history but his winning percentage (56.47) is not even close in camparison to Rohit Sharma (79.03). Pakistan made it to the semi-finals of 2021 T20 World Cup and then final of the 2022 edition under his leadership but failed to clinch the title for the second time in their history.

Brian Masaba created history when he led Uganda to their first ever ICC tournament. Uganda became the 20th team to qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Brian Masaba has been leading his nation since 2021. He has led them to 45 wins out of 60 matches, with nine defeats and three no-results, with an excellent win percentage of 75.00.

Asghar Afghan | Afghanistan - 42 victories

Retired Afghan cricketer, Asghar Afghan won 42 matches as the skipper of Afghanistan. He captained the Afghanistan side in 52 games and took the team over the rope for 42 times with a win percentage of 80.76.  He never managed to win a T20 World Cup with Afghanistan, but helped the team to grow from the roots. He made Afghanistan what they are today.

His win percentage of 59.33 was second best for a long time. He never managed to win a T20 World Cup title with his nation as a captain but made many superstars under his leadership who went on to clinch it in 2022.
