Indian captain Rohit Sharma reached another milestone of his captaincy journey. Rohit registered the record for most T20I wins by an Indian captain in a calendar year surpassing former captain MS Dhoni's record of 15 T20I wins. Rohit registered his 16th T20I wins as captain in this year while winning the first T20I against South Africa at Thiruvananthapuram.

#5. Virat Kohli | 6 wins

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli registered 6 T20I wins in 2017 when he was the captain of the team. Moreover, in the 2016-2017 season, Kohli was also in his prime form while registering the record to feature at the fifth place on this list.

#4. Rohit Sharma | 8 wins

The fourth place on this list is occupied by current Indian all-format captain Rohit Sharma, who registered 8 wins in the year 2018. In the same year, Rohit won the Asia Cup as captain, which was his first major trophy as captain. However, Rohit was a part time captain then, while Virat Kohli was rested for the time.

#3. MS Dhoni | 8 wins

The third and second both places have been occupied by former World Cup winning Indian captain MS Dhoni, who recorded 8 T20I wins as captain back in 2012. Before Rohit Sharma overtook him, this was the second ranked record on this list of most T20I wins by an Indian captain in a calendar year.

MS Dhoni again comes at the second place with a record of 15 wins in 2016, in which India knocked out in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. Dhoni recorded 15 wins and thus he comes at the second place on this list of most T20I wins by an Indian captain in a calendar year.
