Most wins as captain in T20Is

India defeated Sri Lanka yesterday by 62 runs in the 1st encounter of the three-match T20I series. With this win newly appointed skipper Rohit Sharma has now registered the joint most wins as captain in T20Is at home. Rohit has led India in 16 T20I games in which his team managed to win 15 games. The previous record holders are Kane Williamson (NZ) and Eoin Morgan (ENG). They have also registered 15 wins as captain in T20Is at home.

However, now let's take a deep look into the record books. The following list consists of the captains who have registered the Most wins as captain in T20Is at home.

Virat Kohli | 13 wins

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has registered 13 wins in those 23 T20I matches that he played at home. Kohli has been one of the most successful captains in T20Is with a win percentage of over 60. Under Kohli's captaincy, India has won many T20I series at home and also won away T20I series.

Aaron Finch | 14 wins

World Cup-winning Aussie skipper Aaron Finch has won 14 games at home in 25 T20I matches he played as captain. Therefore, Finch is just one win behind the top three to register the same amount of wins at home. Finch-led Australia has recently won a T20I series(4-1) against Sri Lanka at home.

Eoin Morgan | 15 wins

Another World Cup-winning skipper Eoin Morgan of England has led the tables with 15 wins in 25 games at home T20Is. Morgan has won the 50-over World Cup as captain in 2019. Currently, the England cricket team is one of the most quality sides in the shortest format of the game.

Kane Williamson | 15 wins

One of the coolest captains of cricket, NZ's Kane Williamson has also registered the same amount of wins as Morgan but in 30 games. Kane has one of the most successful captains in the format as under him the black caps has reached the T20 World Cup finals last year. Although, Kane has lost the home T20I series against India back in 2020.

Rohit Shamra | 15 wins

India's newly-appointed captain Rohit Sharma has now registered the same amount of wins in T20Is after India won against Sri Lanka yesterday. Rohit Sharma has now the most wins as captain in T20Is along with Kane and Morgan who have also recorded 15 wins. But, the impressive thing is that Hitman led India in 16 T20I games in which India has won 15 games. He is currently holding superb form in T20Is as captain with the mission Melbourne on the cards next October.
