Saurashtra clinched their second Ranji Trophy title in their history defeating Bengal by 9 wickets at Eden Gardens on Sunday. This is their second trophy of this season after winning Vijay Hazare Trophy early in this season. After winning the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 title Saurashtra captain dedicated the trophy to someone named "Chintu".
Chintu is the nickname of Suarastra's very own Chetsewar Pujara who was playing his 100th test match at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Pujara missed the Ranji Trophy final doing national duty while BCCI released Jaydev Unadkat from the second test to play the final of the Ranji Trophy 2022-23.

Pujara has been an obedient servant of Saurashtra and was a part of their first-ever Ranji success as well. "Like I said before the game, it is a fitting tribute to one of Suarashtra's favourite sons, Chintu," Jaydev said in the post-match press conference.
"He is playing his 100th test for India against Australia but he was equally eager and wished us all throughout this to win us the title," Jaydev added.
Unadkat took 9 wickets in the match to rattle the defence of Bengal batters as they made the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 final a one-sided match.
After winning the final, Jaydev said, "this is the era of Saurashtra. The last decade belonged to Saurashtra and I am really really proud of what this team has been able to do in the last decade."
"Three trophies in three years itself shows what this team has been able to do," he added.
