Indian cricket team's young bowler Ravi Bishnoi has secured the top position in the latest T-20 rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC). During this period, he left Afghanistan's star spinner Rashid Khan behind.

Ravi Bishnoi had performed brilliantly in the recently concluded T-20 series against the Australian cricket team, the benefit of which he has seen in the ranking. The Indian bowler now has 699 rating points.
Ravi Bishnoi, who plays for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL, was at number 5 last week. He has achieved the number one position by jumping 5 places.
Ravi Bishnoi was at fifth position last week with 664 rating points. But his performance against Australia (IND vs AUS) was excellent. He took 9 wickets in the 5-match T20 series. This gave him an increase of 34 points. Bishnoi now has 699 rating points which is 7 points more than Rashid Khan. Rashid Khan had been occupying the number one position since March 2023.
Moreover, Ravi Bishnoi was the highest wicket taker in the T20 series against Australia. He took wickets every time in his first over in this series. Bishnoi, who made his T20 debut in February 2022, has taken a total of 34 wickets in 21 T20 matches.
Bishnoi is the second Indian to now hold the No.1 spot in the T20I rankings as Suryakumar Yadav is still the top-ranked batter. Surya has 855 rating points to his name and is well clear of the second-placed Mohammad Rizwan, who has 787 ratings. Meanwhile, Axar Patel has scaled several spots in the all-rounders' list. He is now on the 14th spot in this tally with 127 rating points to his name. Before the latest update, he was not in top 20 even.
Notably, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravi Bishnoi were stellar with bat and ball, respectively in the series. Gaiwkad was the leading run-scorer in the series as he made 223 runs in 5 games. Gaikwad also hit a century in the series. Bishnoi was on top of the chart in wicket-taking chart as took nine wickets in 5 matches. Bishnoi also equalled Ravichandran Ashwin's record of most wickets by an Indian in a T20I series. Axar Patel also had a memorable series as he took six wickets in five games and had the best economy rate of 6.20.
