South Africa have broken the record for the highest score in World Cup history. Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen took the Proteas past 200 in just 30 overs in the SA vs SL clash in the ODI World Cup 2023. The Proteas were already in contention for breaking the record against an injury-hit Sri Lanka.
After de Kock and van der Dussen completed their centuries, Aiden Markram and David Miller joined the party and help their side sail past 400 with ease. They eventually broke Australia's eight-year-old record. Aiden Markram also became the batter to score the fastest century in the World Cup as he completed the century in just 49 deliveries.
