Poor start from Delhi Capitals with the bat

Delhi Capitals won the toss & decided to bat first. Warner and Salt opened for Delhi Capitals with the bat. Bhuvneshwar opened the proceedings with the bowl for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The struggle with the bat is nothing new for Delhi Capitals this season. The issues happened again against the Hyderabad bowlers. Bhuveneshwar Kumar dismissed Salt for a duck in the first over. A team that is struggling with the batting, and lost their opener in the first over is the worst thing, and that is happening with DC on a regular basis. Marsh started very well with back-to-back boundaries in the second over. Warner also looked confident with a six & a four in Sundar's over. Natarajan started really well and didn't take very long before dismissing Marsh for 25 runs.

Washington Sundar & Bhuveneshwar Kumar led the bowling attack with economical overs

Washington Sundar then dismissed Warner for 21 after the end of the powerplay. Sundar also dismissed Sarfaraz Khan in the same over. Sundar scalped his third wicket in the same over's last delivery after dismissing Aman Hakim Khan. Axar Patel & Manish Pandey then took Delhi to a decent position by constructing a stable partnership. Delhi Capitals reached the 100-run mark in the 15th over. Manish Pandey was pushing DC to a good total from a decent situation but it was just Sundar's day. Manish Pandey got run out at an individual score of 34 in 27 deliveries. Bhuvi broke the partnership between Manish & Axar before Manish Pandey's dismissal. He also lost his wicket after scoring 34 runs after playing the same number of delivery.

Bhuveneshwar Kumar was way more economical than any other bowler and he also picked up two wickets after his 4-over spell. He only gave away 11 runs in that spell. Washington Sundar picked three wickets in one single over and ended his 4-over spell after giving away only 28 runs. Delhi Capitals only managed to put up a total of 144 runs after the end of 20 overs.

Sunrisers had a hot & cold start while Delhi held their guard on

Mayank Agarwal started off brilliantly while Harry Brook started slowly as he was throwing away wickets in the last few matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 30 runs in the first 5 overs without losing a single wicket. Anrich Nortje drew the first blood in the first delivery of the sixth over by dismissing Harry Brook for 7 runs after facing 14 deliveries. He once again failed to impress the home fans. Rahul Tripathi held the ground with Mayank Agarwal but he also failed to construct a big inning. Hyderabad were chasing the target very slowly as they only managed to put up 65 runs in the first 11 overs.

Axar Patel broke the partnership before Ishant's over after dismissing Mayank Agarwal for 49 in 39 deliveries. He missed away his half-century once again and that was the wicket that brought Delhi back into the match.

Markram & Abhishek lost their wickets quickly and Delhi fully managed to control the situation. Klaasen & Sundar brought back Hyderabad into the match with some quick hits. Anrich Nortje became the clutch bowler by dismissing his national teammate Klaasen for 31 runs. Klaasen played his bit with a brilliant cameo but impact player Mukesh then bowled a brilliant last over. Washington Sundar also tried his best but Delhi somehow managed to restrict Hyderabad for 137 runs and won the match by 7 runs.
