Mumbai Indians (MI) star batter Suryakumar Yadav is ready to play for the team in the IPL 2024 on April 5. According to Cricbuzz report, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has approved Surya's fitness.

Due to not being completely fit, SKY could not play the first three matches of IPL 2024. Surya had successfully undergone groin surgery in Germany in January this year. After this he was undergoing rehab at NCA. Mumbai will play its next m huatch against Delhi Capitals on April 7 at Wankhede. In such a situation, Surya will join the team before this match. However, no statement has come from Mumbai regarding this till now.
Mumbai did not have a good start in IPL 2024 season. The team has lost three consecutive matches under the leadership of their new skipper Hardik Pandya.
SKY got injured during the third T20 of South Africa tour
Surya was injured while fielding in the third match of the T20 series played against South Africa in December 2023. He had to leave the field immediately. After his departure from the ground, vice-captain Ravindra Jadeja took over the captaincy of the team, since then he was away from the field.
Surya had surgery done in January
World number-1 T20 batter had undergone successful groin surgery in Germany in January this year. He had informed about this through social media post. Surya underwent groin surgery for the second time. After that, he was undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
Naman Dhir may be dropped from the playing eleven
After joining the team, he will take part in the practice session, only after that a decision will be taken whether he can play in the next match or will have to wait. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav will play at number three for his team in the IPL 2024.
In the three matches played by Mumbai Indians so far, Naman Dhir was seen playing at number three. He may have to lose his spot. In the first match, Naman scored 20 runs, after which he scored 30 runs with his bat and in the fourth match, he went to the pavilion after getting out on zero without opening the account. That means his performance was not so unexpected that the captain had to think too much about dropping him from the playing eleven. It remains to be seen what changes in the Mumbai Indians team with the arrival of Surya.
