Maharashtra won the toss and decided to bowl first. Easwaran and Porel opened for Bengal but had a poor start. Pradeep Dadhe scalped the wicket of Easwaran for a golden duck. Porel also lost his wicket early after scoring just 15 runs as Vicky Ostwal trapped him lbw.

Skipper Sudip Kumar Gharami held the ground strong and played a mature & fast inning of 44 runs in just 34 deliveries including 8 fours. Shakir Habib & Shahbaz couldn't add much to the scoreboard but Ranjot Singh Kharia showed his class by playing a beautiful inning of 49 runs in just 31 deliveries including 4 fours and 2 massive sixes. It was unfortunate that he couldn't complete his half-century but remained not out until the very end. He helped the side reach a competitive total of 158 runs. Arshin Kulkarni was the best bowler for Maharashtra as he picked up 2 wickets after giving away just 22 runs in his 4-over spell.

Ruturaj Gaikwad provided a brilliant start to his side as Maharashtra reach the 50-run mark in just 4 overs. Gaikwad showed his class and dominated the opposition bowlers. But unfortunately, he missed out on his well-deserved century by 18 runs. Skipper Kedar Jadhav remained not out on 40 in just 26 balls until the end and assured the victory for his side. Maharashtra chased down the total under just 14.2 overs. Bengal bowlers looked out of ideas and the opposition got the better of them by far.
