India's premier domestic One-day tournament just got finished. Mumbai lead by young Prithvi Shaw became the champions of the 2021 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Mumbai won the trophy for the 4th time in the history of the tournament. Shaw scored runs most runs in a Vijay Hazare Trophy season.

With the Rajni Trophy being called off due to the Covid-19 restrictions, players were left with no choice but to perform in the Vijay Hazare to knock the doors of selection. It was the young guns of Indian cricket who made their chances count. Prithvi Shaw who was recently dropped from the Indian team became the first and only player to score 800 runs in the tournament. Meanwhile, Devdutt Padikkal became the first-ever player to score 4 tons in a Vijay Hazare season. On the other hand, Shivam Sharma of Uttar Pradesh became the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 21 wickets.

#1 Prithvi Shaw - 827 runs in 2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy

The Mumbai captain became the first-ever player to score more than 800 runs in a single Vijay Hazare season. The opener had a traffic season with the bat. Moreover, he also became the only batsman to hit a double ton in the history of the tournament. His 227 against Pondicherry is the highest List A score by a captain in Men's Cricket. Prithvi finished the season with 4 tons, 1 double-ton, and 1 fifty. His 827 is the highest score in a Vijay Hazare season ever. He also hit the most number of sixes in the tournament, 25 being the exact number.

#2 Devdutt Padikkal -737 runs in 2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy

The Karnataka and RCB star was the star of the tournament with 737 runs in the season. Regarded as one the brightest youngster of Indian cricket, Padikkal impressed everyone with his consistency. Perhaps, he became the first player to score 4 tons in this season. Later, Prithvi matched that feat. In his 7 innings, Padikkal scored 4 tons, 3 fifties. He also had an outstanding average of 147.70, the second-best of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021.

#3 Mayank Agarwal -723 runs in 2017-18 Vijay Hazare Trophy

The current Indian player had broken the doors of the Indian team with some scintillating performances in the domestic circuit. In the 207-18 season, Mayank became the first-ever player to score more than 700 runs in a single Vijay Hazare season. His 3 tons were also a record at that time. Mayank averaged 90.3 with the bat which helped Karnataka tow win the trophy in 2017-18 season.

#4 R. Samarth- 613 runs in 2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy

2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy has been a run-fest. R. Samarth from Karnataka had his best season till now in his career this season. Samarth scored 316 runs with 3 tons and 2 fifties. The Karnataka captain scored his highest List-A score when he made 192 against Kerala. However, despite a great individual season with the bat, Samarth could not give Karnataka another Vijay Hazare trophy.

#5 Devdutt Padikkal -609 runs in 2019 Vijay Hazare Trophy

Devdutt Padikkal marked his authority on the domestic circuit with his brilliant performance in the 2019 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He had scored the most runs in the 2019 season. His 609 runs in 11 matches got the eyes of RCB team management. Later he became the Emerging Player of IPL 2020-21. Padikkal had 2 centuries that season and also had an outstanding average of 67.6 with the bat. Perhaps, he out batted the International stars like KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Manish Pandey to make sure Karnataka wins their 4th Vijay Hazare trophy that season.
