The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Wednesday announced all five franchises of the 'Women's Premier League' – the first edition of India's women's T20 league. Adani Sporstline, Royal Challengers, and JSW are among the winners of the team bids.
BCCI announced the successful bidders for the Women's Premier League. The combined bid valuation is INR 4669.99 Cr.
Five cities will be featuring in the opening edition of the WPL. The teams are Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Lucknow.

The Ahmedabad franchise has been acquired by India's leading business group Adani. They owned it through its sports venture Adani Sportsline Pvt Ltd. Ahmedabad team also attracted the highest bid with INR 1289 crore.
India win Sports Pvt Ltd is a part of the Reliance Group. They own Mumbai Indians in the men's Indian Premier League. They bought the Mumbai franchise for a massive INR 912.99 crores.
The Royal Challengers group that owns the men's team in Bengaluru also won the bid for the city in the women's edition of the T20 league with INR 901 crores.
JSW is the owner of the Delhi Capitals team in the men's tournament. They successfully won the bid for INR 810 crore for the Delhi Women's team.

Capri Global is the new entrant, as they spent INR 757 crores to acquire the Lucknow franchise.
BCCI has decided to name the women's t20 league "Women's Premier League". The total bids value has broken the records of IPL's total bids value in 2008.
