Shafali Verma and Laura Wolvaardt scored blistering fifties for Velocity to help Velocity chase 151 with 10 balls left in the match. This is the highest successful chase in the Women's T20 Challenge history. Earlier, Harmanpreet Kaur had scored 71 off 51 balls to take Supernovas' inning to 150. She was adjudged the Player of the match for her inning and two catches on the field.
Coming to the crease Shafali Verma was looking in mood from the first ball. She smashed Sophie Ecclestone and Pooja Vastrakar as the Velocity went to 60/1 in the powerplay. Shafali kept on sending the balls to the boundary to show her real class. With Verma in that mood, the game was going in the one direction.
But, Supernova came back to the match with two wickets within 9 runs to make it an even contest. In addition, sending Shafali Verma back in the dressing room was a confidence booster for Kaur's team as well. Deandra Dottin with both the wickets for Supernovas.

However, Laura Wolvaardt has some other plans. The South African batter came and made it look so easy that Velocity made the highest successful chase with 10 balls left in the match. Captain Deepti Sharma and Laura Wolvaardt's partnership of 71 from 52 balls saw them home. Laura remained unbeaten for 51 off 35 balls as she made sure Velocity earns those valuable two points.
