World Test Championship qualification: India needs to win 5, draw 1

If the Kanpur test ends with a draw, the men in blue will have to win at least five and draw 1 of their 8 test matches to seal their spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final.

India has started its 2024-25 cycle with the Bangladesh series at home. If the Kanpur test ends with a draw, the men in blue will have to win at least five and draw 1 of their 8 test matches to seal their spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final.

Presently, India is donning the WTC Ranking. They have a point percentage of 71.67 from the 10 matches they played.

Following the Bangladesh Test Series, India will play New Zealand at home and Australia away.

India needs to be in the top two to play the final. Right now, Australia holds the second position with 62.50 points. 

Sri Lanka stands third with 50 points, followed by New Zealand at the fourth.

Remaining tests for India in the 2023-25 Test cycle.

India will playa thee-math test series against New Zealand at home. They will fly to Australia for the revised version of the Border-Gavaskar test series with 5 matches.

16-20 October: India vs New Zealand, 1st Test, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru

24-28 October: India vs New Zealand, 2nd Test, Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune

1-5 November: India vs New Zealand, 3rd Test, Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai

22-26 November: India vs Australia, 1st Test, Perth Stadium

6-10 December: India vs Australia, 2nd Test, Adelaide Oval

14-18 December: India vs Australia, 3rd Test, The Gabba, Brisbane

26-30 December: India vs Australia, 4th Test, Melbourne

3-7 January: Australia vs India, 5th Test, Sydney Cricket Ground
