Royal Challengers Bangalore faced Delhi Capitals in the Braboune Stadium for the 3rd match of the Women's Premier League campaign. Smriti Mandhana led her RCB team to their first game of the campaign against the World Cup-winning captain Meg Lanning's Delhi Capitals. Meg Lanning & Shafali Verma's partnership helped DC to put up a huge total of 223. Tara Norris shines as she claimed 5 crucial wickets for DC while bowling and DC clinched the victory to start off the WPL 2023 campaign in quite some style.

Delhi Capitals Batting:
RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana won the toss & elected to bowl first. Shafali Verma & skipper Meg Lanning started the innings for Delhi Capitals. Verma scored 84 runs in 45 deliveries including 10 fours & 4 sixes.
Meg Lanning complimented her with 72 runs in 43 deliveries including 14 fours. They built a partnership of over 150+ and gave a brilliant stage for a big total. Heather Knight claimed both wickets in the same over. Marizanne Kapp played an extraordinary cameo and remained not out by scoring 39 runs in just 17 deliveries including 3 fours and 3 sixes. Jemimah Rodrigues also took the advantage and scored 22 runs in 15 deliveries including 3 fours and remained not out with Kapp. Delhi Capitals put up a total of 223 with the loss of only 2 wickets.
Royal Challengers Bangalore Batting:
Royal Challengers Bangalore came down to bat as skipper Smriti Mandhana gave a brilliant start to her team. Alice Capsey claimed the wicket of Sophie Devine who looked in the form at the start. Ellyse Perry went on to help skipper Mandhana with a variety range of shots. RCB looked quite stable but Alice Capsey once again gave her team the breakthrough they needed. She took the big wicket of Smriti Mandhana (35 of 23) and put them into trouble. Tara Norris did the rest for DC as she took 4 wickets in just 2 overs and broke the top & middle order of RCB. Perry departed after scoring 31 runs in 19 deliveries and RCB fell down.
English skipper Heather Knight & Megan Schutt took the command for RCB to help them reach to a respected total. Heather Knight scored a fighting 34 runs in 21 deliveries 2 fours & 2 sixes but Norris gave her team the English skipper's wicket. She ended her spell with 29 runs for 5 wickets in 4 overs. Megan Schutt remained not out with 30 runs and RCB reached a total of 163 with the loss of 8 wickets. Delhi Capitals won the match by 60 runs.
