Gujarat Giants
With Beth Mooney in the team, Gujarat Giants will surely head into the first match of WPL 2023 with more confidence. Mooney averages 89 at this ground and will be a key factor in this match. They will be missing Dendra Dottin as the West Indian all-rounder has opted out from the WPL due to an injury. Aussie allrounder Kim Garth will join them to replace Dottin. Sneh Rana, Harleen Deol and Ashleigh Gardner will hold the key in the middle overs as the prime all-rounders. Meanwhile, Mansi Joshi, Monica Patel, Hurley Gala and Parunika Sisodia will be their options in the pace bowling department.

Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians will go as one of the favourites to win the trophy with captain Harmanpreet Kaur in tremendous touch after the last inning against Australia in the Women's T20 World Cup 2023. Amelia Kerr, Nat Sciver, Healy Matthews and Heather Graham will be their foreign options. Along with them, Indian batters like Yastika Bhatia, Amanjot Kaur and Dhara Gujjar will have to fire if they want to win the first battle. Among those three batters, uncapped Dhara and Amanjot have done well in the domestic circuit while Yastika's international experience will come in handy for them. Left-arm spinner Saika Ishaque can be an option in the bowling lineup while we have to check in Pooja Vastrakar's fitness who was one of the most expensive buys of the WPL 2023 Auction.
