Smriti Mandhana led Royal Challengers to the Braboune Stadium against the Mumbai Indians in the WPL 2023. RCB lost their first match against Delhi Capitals while Mumbai dominated and won the first match against Gujarat Giants. RCB had a great Auction but they failed to perform in the first match. They once again failed to perform in front of their fans as Mumbai Indians dominated them with the help of Hayley Matthews. WPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians Match Report

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Smriti Mandhana won the toss & elected to bat first. They got a decent start but Hayley Matthews gave the early breakthrough to Mumbai Indians. Richa Ghosh (28) tried to carry the team but she got no support from the other hand. Kanika Ahuja (22), Shreyanka Patil (23) & Megan Schutt (20) gave a decent finish to Royal Challangers Bangalore. Hayley Matthews claimed a total of 3 wickets as RCB gave a target of 156 runs.

Hayley Matthews also performed with the bat as She single handledly gave a brilliant start to Mumbai Indians. She made 77 runs in just 38 deliveries with 13 fours and 1 sixes. She remained not out with Nat Sciver-Brunt (55 of 29 balls) and won the match for Mumbai Indians in just 14.2 overs.
