Mumbai Indians are on a wild run at this moment in the WPL 2023. Harmanpreet & her co are having fun on the pitch while playing against the opposition. Mumbai continue their winning streak with yet another dominant win in the inaugural Women's Premier League. WPL 2023: UP Warriorz vs Mumbai Indians Match Report
UP Warriorz's batting:
Choosing the Bat after winning the toss has become the tradition of WPL 2023. UP Warriorz did no different. Alyssa Healy was carrying her form from the previous game where she remained not out with 96 runs. They needed a great start to put up a big total against a team like Mumbai Indians. Alyssa Healy showed confidence right from the start but Mumbai just couldn't let them do whatever they were hoping to do. Saika Ishaque has been the most important player for Harmanpreet Kaur's Mumbai till now and she gave the early breakthrough. Kiran Navgire went on to help the skipper but after hitting two fours and 1 six, she also lost her wicket. Amelia Kerr sent her to the dugout for 17 runs. Tahila Mcgrath showed she is the no 1 ranked batter in the world. Tahila alongside her captain built an important partnership of 82 runs.
Alyssa Healy scored 58 runs in 46 deliveries with 7 fours & 1 six. Tahile Mcgrath completed her half-century in 36 deliveries with the help of nine fours. Saika Ishaque was waiting for the moment as she scalped both of their wickets. Saika Ishaque claimed three wickets in her spell and she is also leading the chart of most wickets of WPL 2023 with 12 wickets. UP Warriorz put up a total of 159 runs in 20 overs.
Mumbai Indians' Chase:
Yastika Bhatia gave Mumbai Indians a great start while coming down for the chase. Hayley Matthews didn't have a great day with the bat although she bowled really well. Sophie Ecclestone took the wicket of Matthews for only 12 runs. Nat Sciver-Brunt came to rescue Mumbai from a dizzy position & with Yastika, she made a brilliant partnership. Yastika Bhatia took responsibility for the big hits as Nat Sciver went to join her. Eventually, Yastika lost her wicket to Gayakward for 41 runs in 27 deliveries.
Skipper Harman Preet Kaur went on to win the match for Mumbai Indians. The Indian skipper showed class alongside Nat Sciver-Brunt and build the partnership of 106 runs as they completed the chase so easily. Harmanpreet completed her half-century in just 31 deliveries and remained not out by scoring 53 runs with 9 fours & 1 six. Nat Sciver-Brunt also remained not out for 45 runs and finished the match quite in style with an amazing six.
