Belgium vs Morocco: Match Preview:

Belgium can take a big step towards sealing top spot in Group F as they face Morocco in their second World Cup match.

Roberto Martinez's side were incredibly poor for much of their opening match against Canada, their defence run ragged particularly in the first-half and they had Thibaut Courtois to thank for saving Alphonso Davies' penalty. Michy Batshuayi's goal was enough to give Belgium a fortunate win.

As for Morocco, they held Croatia to a goalless draw, holding their own and limiting the 2018 World Cup finalists to limited opportunities in front of goal.

They would be delighted with another point, going into their final group-stage match against Canada, so the onus is on Belgium to force the issue.

Team News:

Belgium:

Romelu Lukaku watched Belgium's opener from the stands – although the pain writ large across his face may have been more reflective of the events on the pitch rather than the muscular injury which sidelined him.

The Inter striker has returned to individual training and may be ready for the final group game against Croatia according to his manager. However, Martinez added: "If I go by how the player feels, there's probably a chance to have him back for the second match ."

With his sights set on a deep run in this competition, Martinez may not risk the nation's record goalscorer before he is fully fit.

Morocco:

Noussair Mazraoui was stretchered off an hour into Morocco's stalemate with Croatia after landing heavily on his hip. While it's unlikely he will have recovered by Sunday, initial reports suggest the damage isn't as severe as first feared.

Belgium vs Morocco: Head to Head:

The two teams have played in the FIFA World Cup on only one previous occasion in 1994, with Belgium winning the game 1-0.

The previous meeting between the two teams took place in 2008 and resulted in a shock 4-1 defeat for Belgium, ending a two-game losing streak in this fixture for Morocco.
