A major trophy in 61 years
With their triumph in the Europa League 2024 final over Bayer Leverkusen, Atalanta now have won only their second major trophy since 1963. Not only that, they are now the first Italian team to win the Europa League in the 21st century.
In the history books
Ademola Lookman, the Nigerian striker became the first-ever player to score a hat-trick in any Europa League final. He scored two goals in the first half and one in the second half.

51 unbeaten matches
Bayer Leverkuse's 51-match unbeaten run was finally ended by Atalanta. Moreover, this also ended Xabi Alonso's treble dream with the German champions.
Never to old to dream
Atalanta's coach Gian Piero Gasperini at 66 years and 117 days, became the oldest winning coach of all in the Europa League era, beating José Luis Mendilibar (who was 62 years and 78 days old when he won the tournament with Sevilla last season).
100% record in UEFA finals
This was Atalanta's first-ever UEFA final. They were the ninth Italian club to play in the UEFA Cup/Europa League final, after Fiorentina, Inter Milan, Juventus, Lazio, Napoli, Parma, Roma and Torino.
