In new football transfer news, Brentford striker Ivan Toney is in high demand after starting the current Premier League campaign with two goals in three games according to sources.
Toney top scored with 33 goals as Brentford were promoted to the Premier League in 2020/21 and he followed that up with 12 top-flight strikes last term.
And he is already on course to smash last season's goal-haul having found the target against Leicester City and Fulham so far.
His performances could see him leave the Gtech Community Stadium before the summer transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Manchester United and Chelsea each have a pressing need for a striker, the former's situation even more pronounced should Cristiano Ronaldo leave, and they could face further competition for Toney's signature.
"Manchester United have been keeping tabs on Brentford striker Ivan Toney this summer and have been joined in their pursuit by Everton and Chelsea," write the Mirror.
"The Brentford striker features on prospective target lists at all three clubs, and the Bees are bracing themselves for bids before the transfer window closes."
Chelsea have had bad luck with strikers in recent seasons but are in need of one having allowed Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner to leave for Inter Milan and RB Leipzig respectively this summer.
The Blues have been playing Raheem Sterling - a winger - and Kai Havertz - a false 9 - in attack so far this season. Barcelona's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains their primary target, but Toney could be a cost-friendly alternative.
The Brentford striker features on prospective target lists at all three clubs, and the Bees are bracing themselves for bids before the transfer window closes. Chelsea 's No.1 target for the centre-forward role is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
However, they could switch their sights to Toney if there are any hitches with that deal and Blues boss Thomas Tuchel could even push for two central strikers after losing Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner. United have been looking at Toney as an option to fill the striker gap they already have.
