ISL 2023-24: 8-men Mumbai City FC defeats 9-men Mohun Bagan in a red-card-filled clash

Bheke, Vikram, and Yuste received red cards after the game. Therefore 7 Red and 7 yellow cards in the game. Highest in the ISL history.

Vikram gets a red card as well for picking up a fight against MBSG players. The match ends with a dramatic 2-1 scoreline at the Mumbai Football Arena. The home team makes a brilliant comeback after conceding early. Both teams were reduced to 10 men for a total of 5 red cards but Mumbai City were more creative and they took their chances to end MBSG's unbeaten run in the ISL 2023-24.

Petratos takes the kick. He sends a ball in, but it takes a deflection and Thapa is there on the rebound. He tries to slot it in but the ball is cleared away by the MCFC defenders. What a match!

Two yellow cards again. One for Ranabhat for his tackle and another for coach Juan Ferrando for arguing with the officials.

Stewart gets his second yellow of the night for diving inside the box.

Bipin Singh provides Mumbai City with the lead. What a turnaround. Mohun Bagan are in deep trouble. Stewart sent the ball inside the box. Bipin gets a good first touch and shoots. It takes a deflection and goes past Kaith.

Stewart will miss the game against Kerala Blasters. He gets booked for kicking the ball at the referee.

Kiyan gets the ball near the box but Apuia comes up with a slide tackle to clear it away.

Mohun Bagan is a man down as well. Asish also sees the red card for a sliding tackle on Pereya. Shubasish is booked for a sliding tackle on Valpuia.

A superb run from Bipin in the middle, who goes past the MBSG midfield and sends a ball inside the box but it misses Pereya's head by a whisker.

The second half begins.

MBSG got the lead early after Mumbai City were being down to 10-men but Stewart scored late in the second half to level the scoreline. An exciting second half awaits.

Diaz produces an amazing flick with his back to goal that sends Bipin through down the left wing. Bipin finds his man with a perfect delivery and Stewart heads the ball into the net. What a comeback!

Mumbai has shown resilience throughout and has threatened MBSG in few instances. Cummings' goal is still the difference between the two sides.

Apuia beats two defenders on the right and serves one inside but Hugo clears it comfortably.

Liston sends a ball to find Subhasish but he heads it past Phurba. Shubasish is offside.

Cummings provides Mohun Bagan with the lead. Liston's pass was received brilliantly by the Australian and he made no mistake to finish from the spot.

Mumbai is forced into a substitution. Valpuia replaces Chhangte.

Akash is booked for a nasty tackle to the back of Manvir. A bit harsh from the referee but he has to leave the field.

Mehtab denies Manvir, who got the ball from Hugo from the edge of the box.

Manvir and Hugo combine on the right to create an attack for Mohun Bagan but Mehtab restricts them by pushing the ball toward keeper Phurba.

Yoell van Neiff tries his luck from long way out but the ball was nowhere near the post.

Mohun Bagan kicks off the game and will attack from left to right.
