Mohun Bagan Super Giant vs Odisha FC: The Juggernauts beat Mariners by 5-2 to knock them out of the AFC Cup 2023-24

Mohun Bagan Super Giant are out of the AFC Cup 2023-24. Odisha FC produced a brilliant perfromance at the Salt Lake Stadium to make it possible. They conceded an early goal but then scored three in the first half. The Juggernauts conceded their second in the 2nd half but then scored two late goals to ensure the victory. Brilliant performance from Sergio Lobera's side.

Isak sees Kaith standing way ahead of the post so he lobs the long ball past the keeper to make it 5-2 in favour of the visitors. Mohun Bagan had their moments but Odisha delivered a statement performance here at the Salt lake Stadium.

Brilliant goal from Aniket Jadhav and Odisha gets their 2-goal lead back. Roy Krishna takes a free-kick from the right and Aniket Jadhav delivers perfectly and it's all over for MBSG now.

Subhasish Bose receives a yellow card. MBSG are just annoyed by now.

Jahouh takes the free-kick, and provides a ball to Narender. His shot flies over the post for a goal-kick.

Amrinder collects the ball comfortably after Kiyan tries to score his second goal. He has been brilliant since his arrival in the second half.

Boumous delivers the free-kick but it got punched away by Amrinder. Thapa gets the ball and plays a long ball for Kiyan, but the play ends with no outcome.

Kiyan gets the ball from Boumous and then dribbles past three Odisha defenders to take a shot but he hits the side-netting.

Amrinder makes a crucial save to deny Boumous and then Colaco tries a shot just seconds later, which goes off-target. MBSG wasting opportunities again and again.

Sahal shoots with his left foot but the ball goes out of play after a strike off the woodwork. A huge opportunity missed by the midfielder.

Instant impact from Kiyan Nassiri after Juan Ferrando subbed him in place of Sadiku. He gives MBSG the hope to make a comeback and it's very much possible now. The match is open now and Odisha have to defend with their lives or score a goal to ensure the result. Kiyan scores a beautiful header to put one back.

Sahal wins a free kick for the Mariners but they couldn't capitalize on the opportunity.

Sadiku's header was comfortably denied by Amrinder on the goal. MBSG are seeking for their 2nd goal but it is not looking so easy for them.

MBSG players are in a hurry as they are 2-goals behind. On the other side, Odisha are looking like a comfortable side in the second half.

Amey Ranawade fouled Colaco and the Odisha player's name gets registered into the book.

Odisha ends the first half with a 2-goal lead. MBSG got the lead early but they couldn't stop the visitors from equalizing the scoreline and extending the lead. What a turnaround in the Salt Lake Stadium and now MBSG have to comeup with some very very special in the second half to make a comeback.

Glan Martins could do nothing while CY Goddard makes a run into the final third after receiving the pass from Mauricio and then buries the ball into the back of the net.

Liston Colaco makes a run into the box and almost scores a solo goal but Jahouh comes up with a clinical tackle to deny a clear opportunity for Mohun Bagan.

What a turnaround here at the Salt lake Stadium. Huge moment in the game as Mauricio provided Odisha the lead. Krishna crosses the ball to the centre for Mauricio. Subhasish could only watch as the forward guided the cross into the net to put the visitors ahead. MBSG are in the mud now.

Krishna converts with a volley to make it all square at the Salt lake Stadium. What a beautiful goal from the former MBSG player. Odisha FC are back and MBSG are under pressure now.

Odisha went for a counter-attack but they couldn't get the final outcome. Mauricio's shot is comfortably caught by Kaith.

Mohun Bagan are pressing high to extend their lead as the visitors are sitting very deep protecting themselves from conceding another one.

Odisha had a corner, which was shot by Narender but Asish was there to head the ball out of danger.

Hugo Boumos strikes for the home side. Colaco carries the ball from midfield and passes it to Asish, whose pass finds Boumous. Boumous then buries the ball into the net, a clinical finish from the midfielder.

Liston Colaco takes the free-kick but it goes wide. MBSG loses a huge opportunity.

MBSG are attacking right from the start. They know the importance of this match as Basundhara has already beaten Maziya in their game. Odisha just don't want to concede an early goal.

Boumous provides the ball to Sadiku, who passes it to Cummins. Sahal then gets the ball on his right but his shot is saved by Amrinder. Although it wouldn't have been counted as Sahal was offside.

Mohun Bagan players are trying to play from the back but Odisha are winning the balls.

Cummins goes down in the Odisha box. Mohun Bagan's players appeal for a penalty but no penalty says the referee. The match continues.
