Vikram Pratap Singh's 42nd-minute and 58th-minute goals were enough to split the two teams at Mumbai. With this victory, they moved to the number four position in the points table with 28 points in 14 games. Bengaluru FC remained at the 10th spot with only 15 points in 16 matches.

Although Bengaluru dominated the possession and took more shots but couldn't test Phurba Lachenpa for a goal. On the other side, Mumbai had the least of opportunities but capitalized on what they got. The Blues did try to create some opportunities but Mumbai City FC were rock solid at the back against the visitors.

Javi Hernandez was looking lively in the second half but it was not enough for the Blues to break the deadlock. Mumbai City FC will next face Chennaiyin FC away on 23rd February while Bengaluru will face Hyderabad at home on 24th February.
