Another chance for Spain. However, the joint-top scorer of the tournament could not keep the ball on target.

Cool and calm finish from the boy from Bilbao. He draws the first blood in the game. Ruiz found Carvajal on the right who flicked the ball to Lamine Yamal. Yamal, upon making an entry to the final third, made the cross to Nico on the far end and Nico did the rest to find the low corner of the far post.

Spain lead. 

Unfortunate for the Spanish defender as he is replaced by Zubimendi.

The first half finishes goalless as both teams failed to have a crack at the opponent's goals. Though Spain had the better possession and played more passes, England tried to find their way with counterattacks. But, both teams lacked the final spark at the top of the box.

The first shot on target from England as Phil Foden stretched out his left leg to deflect the corner form Declan Rice. Calm Simon makes the grab.

Who else? Rodri, the leader in the back blocks a shot from Harry Kane. Clever play from Jude on the left to find Kane in the middle. The rebound ball had found Kyle Walker but Nico Williams fouled him to stop the attack.

Morata received a great pass from Ruiz and tried to enter the final yard from the left. However, Guehi guarded him with his back while Stones cleared out the ball for a Spain corner.

Every time England have won the ball and tried to make something out of it, Spain have been great at winning the ball back. Cucurella specially have been great with that for them.

Sapin have been very patient before making the final pass or the cross. After spanning quite a few minutes on the ball with a pass from right to left, Williams received the ball from Laporte. But, his final cross for Alvaro Morata, who was waiting in the box, is very long.

Luke Shaw got the better of young Lamine Yamal as the 17 year old tried to make an entry from the right but Shaw had him marked and sent the ball for a corner before he could make the cross.

Dani Olmo is cautioned by the referee for a foul on Declan Rice. He caught Rice right on the mid-rif with his boot.

England looking to take advantage of the high-pressing game by Spain and going for counterattacks. With Luke Shaw making a run on the left and then dribbling over Carvajal, they had a great chance of making it a serious threat. However, he could not get the first touch the way he was looking for, he had to cut back to Kane, who could not get his shot right. 

Cucurella cleared the ball out of danger for Spain.

Nico Williams' weak cross from the right is partially negotiated by Stones. It goes for a corner. Spain, just like the whole tournament are pressing very high.

Both Shaw and Carvajal are coming in the final after missing out in the last game. Shaw, who has been making his Euro 2024 debut, won the ball in England's half. Meantime, Carvajal, who had to miss the semis due to card issues, won the ball back from Shaw on the byline.

But, he missed the target.

Raphinha with another solid run on the left and he played it across for Dani Olmo to find the net.

But, the ball was too long for the Spaniard.

He first saved the ball from going out and then created a chance for himself to have a look at the goal and go with his left foot. 

He curls it in past a diving Trubin for one of the most stunning goals you will ever see from a 17-year-old kid.

Barccelona 2-1 Benfica (3-1 agg)

On the left, again, Yamal found the space and the speed to make a quick entry in the final third. 

But, his left-footed effort missed the goal by a whisker. 

Lewandowski's pass from the edge of the box nearly gave Raphinha to make a run inside the box.

The Brazilian was nearly one-on-one against Trubin. But, Trubin came running and was just able to grab the ball before Raphinha could do any damage.

Lamine Yamal had the chance to go for the goal. But, he decided to pass it across to Lewandowski.

However, the pass was a tad long for Lewandowski. 

What a comeback from the visitors!

Schjelderup with their first corner and Otanmeding headed the ball inside the goal for the equaliser. 

Szczęsny got a hand to it. But, it was not enough to stop the goal. Otamendi is now the third-oldest scorer in a Champions League knockout game at the age of 37 years 27 days

He makes another entry to the box and with a side-of-the-boot pass finds Raphhinha. Raphinha precisely side-volleyed the ball inside the goal for their first goal.

The 17-year-old with a run on the right and then made the quick entry in the final third before giving it away to Lewandowski. 

Lewandowski could not take the chance though after a poor start.

Good save from Turbin. Balde with the left-footed shot form the close range.

But, Raphinha was already offside leading to Balde's shot. 

Schjelderup cross from the middle was intercepted by Inigo Martinez. However, the player was already offside leading up to the cross. 

Dani Olmo's pass found Pedri with lots of space. After a run through the middle, Pedri found Yamal on the right. 

But, Yamal could not find the power he was looking for and it is an easy grab for Trubin.

But, it was too long for him.

Kubo crosses a beautiful ball from the right side of the pitch into the final third, but De Ligt blocks the cross.

Both teams were organised in an intense half of few chances, with a Garnacho effort from long range and a Zirkzee back-heel among United's attempts. The visitors twice looked dangerous from counterattacks – a threat Real Sociedad will be wary of.

Onana rose above the crowd and punched the ball away, clearing a looming threat from Sociedad.

Sucic was about to strike the ball from close to the goal, but the ball soared outside wide off the far post.

Following a long ball by Bruno Fernandes from down the middle, Dalot powered a header on target, but Remiro made a routine collection.

Two on-target chances already for the Red Devils, but no goals whatsoever.

Garnacho and Dalot combined up on the right, resulting in Dalot finding Bruno in the middle of the box, but the United skipper's left-footed effort while going down was denied by Elustondo on the line! 

Zirkzee found the second ball but fired it wide off the target!

Kubo tried to find a channel in search of delivering a cross from the right, but United's defence forced the attack to end up in a corner.

In the last five minutes, the only noteworthy thing that happened is Dorgu getting a little bit uncomfortable, creating tension on the United bench. However, he is well and back on the pitch after receiving medical attention.

The game is now mostly being played in the middle of the park.

It has been a slow approach from both sides in the last couple of minutes, culminating the game into a slow progression.

It's been a game of minimal chances so far, with La Real creating 0.07 expected goals (xG) and Man Utd producing 0.06. 

More actions are yet to come!

Garnacho was quickly covered by three of the opposition defenders inside the box, and he channeled a pass to Dorgu on the left. However, Dorgu cut inside and skied his shot way over the crosspiece.

Turrientes slid past Bruo Fernandes and a Casmiro who threw a tackle; but his grounded shot went wide off the far post.

Barrenetxea floated a ball into the penalty area, hoping for the trigger strikers to anticipate it for a header, but Onana came up and collected it.

Dorgu and Garnacho combined inside the box for an attempt at goal, but the Argentine's curling effort from the left was well-claimed by the Sociedad custodian.

Hojlund might have created something out of the attack from te right flank, but the United forward got his heel clipped, extending the wait for a better opportunity to come.

The hosts fiercely started the game, pressing upwards on the United defence. However, the Red Devils stayed alert in scanning the cross from the left, and blocking the shot afterwards.

Real Sociedad have won just one of their previous six European encounters against Manchester United (D2 L3), with that win coming in the group stage of this competition at Old Trafford in September 2022. They won that game 1-0 courtesy of a Brais Méndez penalty, which remains their only goal against them.

Benfica again took advantage of the high-line maintained by Barcelona and broke through the defence easily. 

This time Pavlidis made an entry to the final and after a cutback went for the goal with a left-footed shot. 

His shot was wide though.

Benfica were quick to break and this gave Schjelderup a chance to side-foot the ball. 

However, his effort was saved by Szczęsny.

Olmo, Yamal and Lewandowski - all were denied by Trubin in a single play.

Raphinha's cross gave Olmo the chance to shoot, the rebound shot from Yamal was also saved.

Lewandowski tried to head the ball inside, which was grabbed by Trubin at the end.

Raphinha switched his side to the right and he passed the ball to Kounde to make the run inside the box.

Kounde went too far and he had a tough angle to beat Trubin. Eventually, it was an easy grab for Trubin.

Barcelona now have got to the tune of the match with many final third entries and one corner for them as well.

But to let goals from Atletico Madrid helped them level things up for the second leg.

The youngster has been perfect tonight, covering balls, winning duels.

As we have seen throughout the season, despite conceding goals, Barcelona have kept the line high and this allows Atletico to make a run whenever they have the chance. 

Yamal and Kounde have been solid as a pair as they continue to create attacks from the right side. 

Giuliano Simeone falls on his hand and it allows Ateltico to have a breather.

Griezmann doubles up the lead. Kounde with an mistake in the middle which allowed Atletico with a counter-attack. 

Griezmann did well their to beat Balde first and then Szczęsny. Szczęsny made a half save, but could not stop that form going inside the goal.

Short corner from Griezmann and his cross towards the far post gave Alvarez the chance to convert that into a goal.

Atletico Madrid managed a shocking away win over FC Barcelona in 18 years when these two teams met each other last time. Though Barcelona dominated the game mostly, it was the late goal from Alexander Sorloth that helped Atletico win by 2-1 in the end.
