Conor Gallaher signs for Atletico Madrid
Conor Gallagher, the 24-year-old English midfielder joined Chelsea as a youth player when he was just six years old and spent most of his time on loans with Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace. During his spell with Crystal Palace, Conor was named the Player of the season for scoring 8 goals and 5 assists.
He then made his Chelsea senior debut in 2022 and since then appeared for his boyhood club 95 times. During his stint with the senior team, Conor scored 10 times while assisting the same number of times.
Conor made his senior England debut in November 2021 and was part of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and Euro 2024 squads as well. He has signed a five-year contract with the Spanish team which will last till 2029.
Joao Felix leaves Atletico Madrid to join Chelsea
Portuguese international star Joao Felix has joined Chelsea on a seven-year permanent deal. The 24-year-old striker started his career with Benfica where he won the league before joining Atletico Madrid in 2019. Since joining Atletico Madrid he scored 34 goals and provided 18 assists and won La Liga in 2020/21.
Felix joined Chelsea in 2023 on loan where he scored four goals in 20 games before joining FC Barcelona last season scoring 10 goals while assisting 6 times.
Iikay Gundogan returns to Manchester City
The football transfer news continued on Wednesday as the former Manchester City midfielder returned back to Etihad Stadium from FC Barcelona. Gundogan joined FC Barcelona last season from City for a two-year deal triggered to a three-year contract after he featured for more than 60% of Barca's games last season.
Gundogan was ready to continue at Barcelona but as he was informed that he would not be part of Hansi Flick's plan, he decided to leave. Gundogan, who had featured 36 times for Barcelona last season will now have to forego his two-year's salary to join Manchester City.
The German star joined City in 2016 and won five Premier League and 1 UEFA Champions League title for the Premier League club.
