Legendary teams from 16 countries of the world are participating in the Hockey World Cup 2023. The Indian team will also present a claim to win the World Cup, but India will compete with the top teams of the world. All the matches of the tournament will be played at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela.

Moreover, 16 teams will be divided into 4 groups of four each. These groups have been named Pool A, Pool B, Pool C, and Pool D. The Indian team is included in Pool D. And there are teams like Australia and France in Pool A. Teams like Germany and Japan are placed in Pool B, Netherlands, and Chile in Pool C. India's team is at the fifth position in the world rankings. Being the host country, India has directly qualified for the World Cup.
