India At Paralympics 2024 Day 8 (September 5) Highlights | Kapil Parmar won historic bronze medal in Judo

Hello and welcome to another day of our LIVE coverage of Paris Paralympics 2024 as Indian Para-Atheletes continue their historical campaign in Paris. Today, we will bring you all the LIVE updates, scores, news, images, and results of Paris Paralympics Day 8 (September 5) as India look to increase the medal tally.

Till now India para-athletes have already registrered their best-ever Paralympic Games campaign with 24 medals while getting past their previous best of 19 medals at Tokyo Paralympics.

What happended on Day 7?

On day 7, India clinched four medals (2 Gold and 2 Silver) and took their medal count to 24. Harvinder Singh created history by winning Gold medal in Men's individual recurve open event while in the Men's Club Throw F51 event Dharambir won Gold with National Record of 34.92m and Pranav Soorma won silver with 34.59m throw.

Sachin Sarjerao Khilari won the silver medal for India in the Men's Shot Put F-46 event with a National Record of 16.32m.

With coming events in Shooting, Archery, Judo, Athletics and Powerlifting today, we can surely hope for more medals.

He beats World No. 2 Elielton de Oliveira by Ippon.

Indian mixed team of Harvinder Singh and Pooja Jatyan defeated team Poland in the quarter-finals of mixed team recurve open event by 6-0. Their semi-final will take place from 7.50 pm against Italy.

Simran qualifies for the final of women’s 100m T12. She is off the line faster than anyone else, but crosses the line in second, behind Germany. Her time is 12.33s, which will be good enough to be one of the two best non-automatic qualifiers.

In Judo Men's 60 kg J1, India's Kapil Parmar defeated Venezuela’s Marcos Blanco 10-0 in the quarter-final match.
 
With this win, Kapil qualified for the semifinal.
 
Kapil will take on Seyed Abadi of Iran in the semifinal. A win will guarantee a medal.
