Meanwhile, for the first time, India has achieved the quota in all shooting events in the Paris Olympics 2024. Shooting has been a part of the Olympic Games since 1896. This game was not played only in the 1904 and 1928 Olympic Games.
Indian team in shooting
India is sending its largest shooting contingent ever for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024. A total of 21 shooters will compete for 27 medals. The team includes emerging players like Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Sift Kaur Samra, Esha Singh, and Arjun Babuta, who will try to capitalize on their chances of winning a medal for India.
Rules of the shooting games
There are three shooting sports in the Olympics, rifle, pistol, and shotgun. Rifle and pistol events take place on shooting ranges, where athletes shoot at targets at distances of 10 meters, 25 meters, and 50 meters. Shotgun competitions are different in principle because they take place outdoors. Shooters shoot at targets from different angles and directions. Rifle and pistol competitions also have three positions: kneeling, lying, and standing. Some events include all positions. The target has to be hit accurately and as close to the center as possible.
