ISSF World Championships 2022: Indian Women's Trio won Bronze medal in the 25m Pistol event

Indian shooters got off to a flying start as they returned with a bronze medal in the women's 25m pistol event at the ongoing ISSF World Championships 2022 in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday. The combination of Esha Singh, Naamya Kapoor, and Vibhuti Bhatia was the best for the German shooters in the bronze medal match.

On Thursday, Esha, Naamya, and Vibhuti qualified for the next stage by finishing fourth in the first round of qualifying with 856 marks in the ISSF World Championships 2022. In the next round, they scored 437 points and finished fourth behind Germany. They defeated Germany 17-1 in the bronze medal match and wrote India's name in the medal tally on the very first day of the competition. In addition, China won the gold medal in this event while Korea won the silver medal.

In the women's 50m Rifle Prone Junior event, Nischal finished eighth and 34th with 616.9 and Nupur Kumrawat 606.6 respectively. On the other hand, in the men's junior section of the same event, Surya Pratap Singh (608.7) finished 13th, Pankaj Mukheja (608.5) 14th, Harsh Singla (606.0) 20th and Adriyan Karmakar (603.7) 27th.
