Serbia's Novak Djokovic reached the Olympic singles quarter-finals for a record fourth time by beating Germany's Dominic Koepfer 7-5 6-3.
For all his 24 Grand Slam titles and countless other accolades, the Olympics has never been especially kind to the 37-year-old for whom a bronze medal remains his only souvenir.

Deng Yawen of China won gold in the women's freestyle BMX competition, while five-time world champion Hannah Roberts of the United States crashed out of both of her runs and failed to medal.

Alex Yee pulled off a dramatic comeback to win a phenomenal triathlon gold in Paris.
The 26-year-old triathlete was the favorite coming into the event but had to chase down Hayden Wilde to win at the death. Yee's chances seemed over when he was 14 seconds down with just one lap remaining and with just 100s of meters remaining, Britain's champion surged.
