Paris Olympics 2024 Opening Day - 2 football results

Matchday 1 of the Men's football at the Paris Olympics 2024 concluded with lots of drama and chaos. Morocco pulled off an unforgettable victory over Argentina by 2-1 in the opening game of the tournament but it wasn't just that. Argentina were trailing by 2 goals but put one back with 20 minutes left in the game. 

In the final moments of added time, Argentina's Medina scored a controversial equalizer, causing Moroccan fans to react violently by throwing objects onto the field and invading the pitch. After 2 hours of pause in the game, the goal was ruled out and Morocco was announced as the game's winning side. This fixture will be remembered for its unprecedented and controversial ending.

Spain were victorious over Uzbekistan by 2-1 in the Group C game while New Zealand won against Guinea with the same scoreline in a Group A fixture. Egypt and the Dominican Republic played out a goalless draw in a Group C fixture. Japan registered a resounding victory over Paraguay. They beat the 10-men Paraguayan side by 5-0 in a Group D fixture. Iraq on the other end, registered a 2-1 victory over Ukraine to conclude the Day 1 of the men's football in the Paris Olympics 2024.

On Day 2, France thrashed the USA by 3-0 to start their campaign. The USA were playing like they were trying to create an upset but Alexander Lacazette and Michael Olise helped France clinch an easy win at the end. In the last game of Matchday 1, the fans witnessed a 1-1 draw between Mali and Israel.
