It’s been a great final for Indian women wrestlers at U23 World Wrestling Championships 2021. On Friday, all three women were able to win a medal from their events.
It was Divya Kakran, Nisha and Radhika who won bronze medals in their respective categories. This was India’s fifth medal in the tournament. Shivani Pawar and Anju had already won silver and bronze medals in their events on Thursday at U23 World Wrestling Championships.
Divya Kakran defeated Kayla Marano of the USA in the 72kg category. Not to forget, Divya came through the repechage round.
Radhika, another Indian wrestler who came through repechage round thrashed Aurora Campagna of Italy. She won by a 6-4 margin in the 62kg category.
Meanwhile, Nisha won against Elma Zeidlere of Latvia. She won by technical superiority in the 65kg category.
All of them finished at the podium with a bronze medal against their name. However, Indian men wrestlers disappointed everyone. Only, Saurabh will have a shot at bronze after losing against Aliabbas Rzazade in the semis. However, Parvinder can have a shot at a medal finish who will have to come through the repechage round.
