Tennis great Roger Federer announced his retirement on 15 September. He will say goodbye to professional tennis forever after the Laver Cup 2022. He has reached London for this ATP tournament to be held from 23 to 25 September which will be Roger Federerโ€™s last tournament. From 22 September, Federer will take part in a practice session with Team Europe. He will participate alongside other tennis greats Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray at the tournament.

Although, there are many speculations about his participation at the event right now. Ever since the knee injury, Federer felt that he would not be able to return to the court again. But he continued to practice every day.

โ€œAs many of you know, the past three years have presented me with challenges in the form of injuries and surgeries. Iโ€™ve worked hard to return to full competitive form. But I also know my bodyโ€™s capacities and limits, and its message to me lately has been clear. I am 41 years old. I have played more than 1500 matches over 24 years. Tennis has treated me more generously than lever would have dreamt, and now I must recognize when it is time to end my competitive career,โ€ He said.
