Indian Tennis sensation Sania Mirza and her partner Rajeev Ram qualified into the mixed doubles second round of AO 2022. They gained a glorious win against Aleksandra Krunic and NIkola Cacic, on Thursday.

Indian Tennis sensation Sania Mirza and her partner Rajeev Ram qualified into the mixed doubles second round of AO 2022. They gained a glorious win against Aleksandra Krunic and NIkola Cacic, on Thursday. The pair of Mirza and Ram, both previous Grand Slam champions, won 6-3, 7-6(3) in the first-round match.
The Indo-American pair got out to a strong start, winning the opening set 6-3 in just over 25 minutes. The Serbian pair, on the other hand, rallied back forcefully and extended the second set into a tie-breaker.

The duo maintained their cool to win in straight sets and advance to the second round. The winner of the match between Robert Farah-Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Matwe Middelkoop-Ellen Perez will face them next. However, Sania Mirza and Rajeev Ram both won the first game with ease after serving to perfection. The duo broke Krunic-service Cacic's in the fourth game to gain a decisive 3-1 lead in the first set.
Mirza and Ram won the first set 6-3 by holding on to their serves. The second set, unlike the first, was a close match, with both couples serving well and not allowing each other to break. As a result, with a score of 6-6, the second set went to a tie-breaker. Mirza-Ram took a 3-1 lead in the tie-breaker and won by 7-3.
Neither Sania Mirza nor Rajeev Ram were broken during the entire match. Mirza and Ram won in straight sets to advance to the second round of mixed doubles.
