8 Mumbai Batsman to score Triple century in Ranji Trophy

Rohit Sharma

Rohit has scored one triple-century in his first-class career. Rohit breached the 300-runmacrk while playing for Mumbai against Gujarat at the Brabourne Stadium in the 2009/10 season. He remained unbeaten on 309.

Rohit Sharma made his test debut in 2013 and kicked off his career with back-to-back centuries. The India captain has the highest score of 212 in Test cricket. Only two Indian batsman-Virender Sehwag and Karun Nair- have scored triple-centuries in Tests.

Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw etched his name in history books when he smashed 379 against Assam in the 2022/23 Ranji Trophy season. Shaw holds the record of the second-highest score in an innings in Ranji Trophy.

Prithvi Shaw is capped in international cricket. He made his test debut against West Indies in 2018 and smashed a century. Shaw has been out of team India since 2021. He is missing the ongoing season due to injury. Shaw is likely to return in IPL 2024.

Sarfaraz Khan

Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan joined the elite list of batsman to score triple-century in the 2019/20 season. He slammed an unbeaten 301 against his former team, Uttar Pradesh. Sarfaraz returned to Mumbai in 2018.

Sarfaraz Khan is waiting for his maiden India call-up. He has scored ample runs in domestic cricket but is yet to be called up. The right-handed batsman is representing India A in the series against England Lions.

Sunil Gavaskar

Sunil Gavaskar slammed a brilliant 340 for Mumbai against Bengal in the 1981/82 Ranji Trophy season. Courtesy of his triple-century, Mumbai put on huge total of 652 in response to Bengal's 252. Mumbai won the game by an innings and 181 runs.

Sunil Gavaskar is one of the greatest Indian players. He finished his Test career with 10122 runs. He was the first batsman to breach the 10000-run mark in Tests. Gavaskar has a highest score of 236 not out in test cricket.

Wasim Jaffer

Not one, Wasim Jaffer slammed two triple-centuries for Mumbai. His first triple-century against Saurashtra in the 1996/97 against Saurashtra in the 1996/97 Ranji Trophy season. Jaffer's next triple-century came in the 2008/09 season against the same team.
