Cheteshwar Pujara seems to be making all the right noises ahead of the 5-test series against England.
The out-of-favor senior batter hit his 17th first-class double hundred in Saurashtra's Ranji Trophy opener.
Pujara hit 243 not out for Saurashtra against Jharkhand in Rajkot. He completed his big double on Sunday, January 7.
Pujara's big knock will remind the selectors of his hunger when they sit down and pick the squad for the 5-test series, starting January 25.
Pujara has not played Tests for India since the World Test Championship final in June 2023.
The senior selection committee seems to have moved on from both Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane.
Pujara was not considered for the series against the West Indies and the away tour of South Africa.
