On February 26, The maiden Indian Open Throws competition will kick off the domestic athletics season in New Delhi, as per the Athletic Federation of India.
However, the fundamental National Javelin Day event will take place on August 7 in all of the states to commemorate Neeraj Chopra's Olympic gold medal triumph. Chopra, a brilliant javelin thrower, earned India's maiden Olympic gold in athletics in Tokyo Olympics last year. The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) earlier declared that national javelin day might be recognized to honour his performance.

From April 2 to 6, the Federation Cup Senior National Athletics Championships will be conducted in Kozhikode. Whilst Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships will take place in Chennai. Also, the National Open Athletics Championships will take place in Jamshedpur, correspondingly.
The Athletic Federation of India unveiled the 25-meet annual adversaries calendar on Saturday.
The AFI presdient's declaration
AFI President Adille Sumariwalla declared, "We are keen to build on the attention that Neeraj Chopra's gold medal in the Olympic Games has got for athletics in India. The annual calendar has been designed to give our athletes every chance to qualify and prepare for international events. Like the World Championships, Commonwealth Games and Asian Games."

However, according to Sumariwalla, the association agreed to add a National Open Throws Competition on February 26 in Delhi. Thereafter, a National Open Jumps Competition on March 1 in Thiruvananthapuram. "We will continue to organise the National Javelin Throw Competition. And look forward to marking Neeraj's Olympic gold with the National Javelin Day events in all States and Union Territories on August 7," he added.
Furthermore, The AFI president added that slots had been allocated for district meets (March 1 to 31). Followed by the state meets (April 1 to May 25) and sports board meets (August 1 to 30).
