The Indian men's team has secured first place in the Asian Half Marathon Championships 2023 held in Dubai and clinched gold medal on Saturday.
The Indian men's team won this Asian Half Marathon Championships race with a time of 3.17.56. In the men's team, Sawan Barwal took 1.04.30, Kartik Kumar took 1.05.21 and Abhishek Pal took 1.08.05 and secured the first position.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan team took the time of 3.26.46 and stood second in the Asian Half Marathon Championships. While the United Arab Emirates team took a time of 3.27.25 and finished third, the South Korean team took a time of 3.34.14 and finished in fourth position. Pakistan team was at fifth position which took a time of 3.35.32.
Apart from this, Indian players have also performed well in individual events. Sawan Barwal has finished third in the individual event of the Asian Half Marathon Championships 2023 and won bronze. Kartik has finished at 5th place and Abhishek has finished at 13th place.
On the other hand, Daisuke Doi of Japan has secured first place in the individual event. China's Kegu Yan has got the second position and India's Sawan has got the third position.

The Asian Half Marathon Championships proved to be a successful outing for the Indian contingent as the Women's Team also displayed their prowess. Poonam Dinkar, Kavita Yadav, and Rima Patel showcased exceptional athleticism, securing a medal each with timings of 1:19:28, 1:19:33, and 1:19:40, respectively.
A total of 32 players took part in this Asian Half Marathon Championships event, which lasted only a few minutes. The championship in Dubai marked a significant milestone for Asian long-distance running, providing a platform for athletes to showcase their talent and compete at the highest level.
