Team Indiaโ€™s star players Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer are running out of the Indian team these days. BCCI gave an update on the fitness of both the cricketers and also gave information related to their surgery and rehabilitation on Saturday afternoon. Significantly, both these players are out of IPL 2023. Now in the coming days, their playing in the WTC final between India and Australia from June 7 is also considered doubtful.

BCCI has issued a press release giving medical updates on Bumrah and Iyer. In this, the board told that Jasprit Bumrahโ€™s lower back surgery has been done in New Zealand and it was also completed successfully. After this, he was advised to start rehabilitation after about 6 weeks of rest. Now Jasprit Bumrah has started rehab management at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru from Friday. Also, regarding Shreyas Iyer, the board told that he will undergo lower back surgery next week. Iyer will then be under the supervision of a surgeon for two weeks before starting his rehabilitation at the NCA.

Jasprit Bumrah was last seen playing for the Indian team in September 2022. After this, he missed T20 World Cup 2022. Later he also did not play in Sri Lanka and New Zealand series. The team landed without Jasprit Bumrah in the Border Gavaskar Trophy as well and he was ruled out of IPL 2023 too. Now his playing in the final of the World Test Championship is doubtful.

On the other hand, talking about Shreyas Iyer, he was injured during the last Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. After this, he was ruled out of the ODI series as well. Then the KKR captain was also ruled out of the entire IPL 2023 season. Now it is doubtful whether he can return to the team till the final of the World Test Championship.
