After losing a humongous opportunity to earn seven points against a weaker team like Bihar, Bengal's next match in Ranji Trophy 2024-25 against Kerala shifts to Jadavpur Second Campus Ground, in Salt Lake, Kolkata. Since the match got abandoned without a ball being played due to the wet outfield in Kalyani, Bengal had to be satisfied with one point against Bihar, in Kalyani.
Although Bengal team management wanted to play in Kalyani, due to the pitch's nature to produce results, C.A.B now wants to focus on getting a game first. Since cyclone "Dana" is supposed to hit Bengal and Odisha on 24th October, Bengal does not want to take any risk with this match.

Currently, Bengal is at the number three position with 4 points in the Elite Group C and they will have to ensure outright wins against heavyweights like Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka before they shift their focus to white-ball format. C.A.B secretary Naresh Ojha in an interview with ABP has said, "The match against Kerala has been shifted to JU campus ground. We have received the approval from BCCI as well."

In the meantime, since star opener Abhimanyu Easwaran, pacer Mukesh Kumar and wicket-keeper Abishek Porel are travelling to Australia to represent India A, Bengal brought in two players to replace them.
Ishan Porel, who will be making a return to the squad after missing the first game due to injury, will replace Mukesh Kumar. On the other hand, wicket-keeper batter Shakir Habib Gandhi might come in as a like-for-like replacement for Abishek Porel.
