New Zealand Cricket declares, "Following an escalation in the New Zealand Government threat levels for Pakistan, and advice from NZC security advisors on the ground, it has been decided the BLACKCAPS will not continue with the tour."

The season behind this decision is a security alert. Their government-issued the alert just a few minutes before the toss of the first ODI between New Zealand and Pakistan on Friday. New Zealand went to Pakistan to play 3 ODI matches and 5 T20I matches.

The Black Caps took social media to announce the calling of the matches.

New Zealand Cricket announced in an official release, "Arrangements are now being made for the team's departure."
