Daryl Mitchell has been ruled out due to injury before the tri-series between New Zealand, Pakistan and Bangladesh. During practice in the nets, Mitchell injured his right hand. After which he got X-ray done. After that, it became clear that his finger was badly fractured. The recovery may take at least two weeks. Coach Gary Stead has given a big update regarding his playing in the T20 World Cup.

"It's a real shame for Daryl to suffer this injury on the eve of an exciting period of cricket for the side. Daryl's become a really important player to our T20 unit and we're certainly going to miss his all-round skills and versatility in the Tri-Series." Gary said.

In the tri-series, New Zealand will play the first match against Pakistan on 8 October. New Zealand are yet to announce Mitchell's replacement for the tri-series.

Daryl Mitchell's injury just before the T20 World Cup is a big setback for the team. He has been able to do wonders with both the ball and the bat and his recent form was also terrific. After the injury, he is also finding it difficult to play in the World Cup.
