Gujarat Titans will host Chennai Super Kings in match no 59 of IPL 2024 on Friday, 10th May, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat. CSK have won six out of 11 matches they have played so far this season and are sitting at the fourth spot of the points table. The Titans are at the bottom of the table with only four victories which is concerning as they were the runners-up last season and won the title in 2022 Indian Premier League title.

The pitch of the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has changed a lot. It was a solid batting pitch but black soil has been used and now it helps the slower bowlers. Batters will have to score runs in the powerplay because, with the progression of the match, the wicket will get slower and tricky for batting. Gujarat Titans

Shubman Gill needs to step up. He hasn't been good in the last few matches which has created lots of issues. Wriddhiman Saha too has struggled throughout the season and GT haven't been able to replace him with someone better. But, they both are expected to start with the bat for the Titans.

Sai Sudharsan has scored runs this season but his performance was so poor against RCB in the last game. However, he has played lots of brilliant knocks this season. GT hardly looks like a dangerous team in their middle overs which has been a huge problem for them. But, David Miller, Shahrukh Khan, and Rahul Tewatia scored valuable runs in the previous game. 

Rashid Khan has always been a trump card for GT. The Afghanistan spin wizard's four overs are always crucial as he can change the course of the game. He can also score some vital runs, coming to bat in the lower middle order. But, he hasn't been the same guy this season. He has conceded lots of runs and failed to pick up wickets. Joshua Little picked up four wickets in the last game and is expected to play the game against CSK too.

Noor Ahmed is another spinner, GT will bank upon. He grabbed two wickets against RCB and has bowled some impressive spells this season. Mohit Sharma is struggling consistently this season and has failed to replicate his last season's performance.

Chennai Super Kings

Fast bowler Deepak Chahar didn't feature in the last match. Pathirana and Mustafizur both are unavailable. Simarjeet Singh made his debut and came up with a brilliant 3-over spell in which he picked up 2 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja picked up 3 wickets in his superb 4-over spell. Santner picked up only 1 wicket but conceded only 10 runs in his three-over spell. 

Rahane has opened with Ruturaj at the top but has failed to contribute much. Skipper Ruturaj has impressed with his calm and composed batting and captaincy. He is the top run scorer of Chennai this season.

Shivam Dube got out for ducks in the previous two games. He will try to improve in the game against GT although he has been sensational this season. Daryl Mitchell is finally looking good with the bat and has scored some valuable runs in the previous two or three games.

MS Dhoni has scored runs whenever the team has needed him. He couldn't score any runs in the previous game but he will be there if CSK needs him. Jadeja has been criticized a lot this season but he has been one of the best players for CSK this season. He hasn't been the most consistent player but has stepped up here and there for the team.
