Former Indian opener Murali Vijay will be participating in the upcoming season of the "Tamil Nadu Premier League" (TNPL), the 38-year-old confirmed on Sunday. He also said that he wants to enjoy his game. The Tamil Nadu Premier League is scheduled to start from June 23 onwards.

In the year 2020, Murali Vijay has last played competitive cricket In IPL 2020 in Dubai against Delhi Capitals. However, he has last played an international game (Test) back in 2018 against Australia in Perth. Since then he has been out from the Indian team as Shaw and Gill make their way into the Test team.
In 61 Tests, the 38-year-old has amassed 3982 runs at an average of 38.29. Meanwhile, in 105 innings the former batter has registered 12 centuries and 15 half-centuries and registered the highest score of 167. Coming to the one-day format, Vijay has recorded 339 runs in 17 games at an average of 21.19 and in T20Is he has scored 169 runs in 9 games.
In his 12 years long IPL career, Murali Vijay has aggregated 2619 runs at an average of 25.93 and with a strike rate of 121.87. Vijay has registered 13 half-centuries and two centuries in his 106 innings IPL career.
