Williamson scored an unbeaten 133

Kane Williamson is among the three players who has been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month Award. The month of February has been very special for Williamson. He has played a big role in helping his team by scoring consecutive centuries. Kane Williamson scored two centuries in the first Test at Mount Maunganui and then scored an unbeaten 133 to help his team chase down a tricky fourth-innings target in Hamilton and seal a series win. Due to these centuries of Williamson, New Zealand reached number one in the ICC World Test Championship points table, although later it had to come down and the team is currently in second place.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored back to back double centuries against England

Yashasvi Jaiswal, nominated for the ICC Player of the Month for the first time, created many new records by scoring two back to back double centuries against England. In Visakhapatnam, he first played an excellent inning of 209 runs in the first innings and then helped India take the lead in the series by scoring a double century in the second innings of the Test in Rajkot.

Jaiswal is currently the highest run-scorer batsman in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25. He has scored 971 runs in eight matches so far and may soon complete his 1000 runs. Jaiswal hit 12 sixes during his innings in the Rajkot Test and equaled Wasim Akram's old record. Back-to-back double centuries at the age of 22 years and 49 days made him the third youngest batsman in the world to score two double centuries in Tests, after Don Bradman and Vinod Kambli.

Pathum Nissanka broke Sanath Jayasuriya's 24-year-old record

Pathum Nissanka of Sri Lanka is the another player to feature on the shortlists in February's ICC Player of the Month awards. If we talk about Nissanka, he also batted brilliantly for his team in February. He has become the first player from Sri Lanka to score a double century in ODI. Nissanka scored an unbeaten 210 off just 139 balls against Afghanistan in Pallekele.

Even after this, Nissanka managed to score an inning of 118 runs in 101 balls. He broke Sanath Jayasuriya's 24-year-old record for the highest score by a Sri Lankan batsman in a single match in ODIs. Jayasuriya scored 189 runs against India in Sharjah in 2000.
